In the Universal Song of Human Rights, Michael Wiener has transposed excerpts from the Declaration in different languages into music.<br \/>\nHe<a href=\"http:\/\/www.unmultimedia.org\/tv\/webcast\/2011\/12\/musical-performers-human-rights-day-2011-social-media-and-human-rights.html\"> accompanied the choir ensemble<\/a> on a piano lent by the UN Music Club.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Idalina Cappe de Baillon <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unmultimedia.org\/tv\/webcast\/2011\/12\/idalina-cappe-de-baillon-human-rights-day-2011-social-media-and-human-rights.html\">sang Vissi d\u2019Arte from Puccini\u2019s La Tosca and the Habanera from Bizet\u2019s Carmen, accompanied by Michael Wiener<\/a> on the piano.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #cc99ff;\">The case for Haiti<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The project \u201cMusic for Haiti\u201d was conceived shortly after an earthquake struck Haiti on 12 January 2010. That was the starting point \u00a0for a musical project which was christened the <a title=\"World Music Projects\" href=\"http:\/\/unmusicclub.com\/un\/activities\/world-music-projects\/\">UN World Music Project<\/a>, which gave its first concerts in the context of events held to express solidarity with the Haitian people.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-973\" src=\"http:\/\/unmusicclub.com\/un\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/CD-cover-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"CD cover\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unmusicclub.org\/un\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/CD-cover-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/unmusicclub.org\/un\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/CD-cover.jpg 260w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>The <a title=\"The recording session\" href=\"http:\/\/unmusicclub.com\/un\/the-recording-session\/\">CD<\/a>\u00a0produced shortly after incorporates several interpretations of Haitian music, among other songs. \u00a0The title of this first CD is &#8220;<a title=\"Click here to view the sale poster for the CD\" href=\"http:\/\/unmusicclub.com\/un\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Affiche-POUR-HAITI.pdf\">Pour Ha\u00efti, Pays debout<\/a>&#8221; (For Haiti, a country still standing) to honour the courage and perseverance of those people whose history has been both so heroic and so tormented.Partnership with \u201cAide et Action\u201d, the non-governmental organization devoted to education of Haitian children<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The Case for Japan tsunami<\/span>Mimi Ameti and Patrice Piguet wrote the song Out of Sendai in commemoration of those who lost everything in the wake of the tsunami in 2011. <em><br \/>\n<\/em>[mp3j volslider = &#8220;y&#8221;\u00a0track=&#8221;OUT-OF-SENDAI.mp3&#8243;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Singers and instrumentalists are happy to perform for a cause.
